The
Student
Assistance Program provides intervention for at-risk
students at
schools in Greene, Johnson, Sullivan and Washington counties with
academic, social and/or behavioral problems.
SAP’s
goal is to provide clinical services for students with significant
emotional and behavioral issues and help schools maintain safe and
disciplined learning environments. SAP also strives to decrease
the incidence of suspension and out of school placements, while
reducing the Recidivism of alcohol and drug offenses in grades 6
through 12.
Grades
K-5
SAP staff will provide:
• Consultation for teachers.
• Collaboration with school counselors.
• Individual counseling.
• Small group counseling.
• Crisis Intervention.
• Parent education/counseling at school and in
the home.
• A violence prevention curriculum for students
with anger issues.
• Linkage, liaison
and referrals.
Grades
6-12
SAP staff will provide:
• Assessment and intervention for youth who
have an alcohol or tobacco offense.
• Life skills training in conflict resolution and
anger management.
• Individual and group counseling.
• Linkage, liaison and referrals.
