Scott County Behavioral Health Services Opens New Location

Scott County Grand Opening   “You have a good reputation across the state,” said Delegate Terry Kilgore, Rep., speaking about the care provided by Frontier Health and Planning District One Behavioral Health Services 33-year partnership.

   The new location on U.S. Highway 23 North in Weber City will help centralize services. The move and name change from Scott County Mental Health will help improve access to care in the PD1 area.

7th Annual Kid Power a Success
  The 7th Annual Kid Power: Empowering Kids for Success is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010. The 2009 event drew a crowd of 5,500 at the Appalachian Fairgrounds in Gray.
   See Wings helicopter land and talk with the crew. Sing your way to Kid Power Idol and have fun with the Johnson City Family Skate Center. See a Roller Derby Jam.
   Test your batting speed with the Johnson City Cardinals. Check out your skills in the Milk Mustache, Limbo, Hula Hoop, and Power Bubble contests. Make giant bubbles with Project BASIC or investigate fossils with the Gray Fossil Site and see Bay’s Mountain opossum.

Ticket to Work

   Frontier Health is a Ticket to Work Employment Network. Ticket to Work provides disability beneficiaries choices for receiving employment services in order to return to work. Beneficiaries can choose the employment network they use.

SAFE House
  SAFE House provides safe, confidential shelter, a 24-hour crisis line, counseling to domestic violence victims and their families. For more on SAFE House, call 2-1-1 or (423) 246-2273.
   The next Flowers on the Lake Remembrance for victims of domestic violence is set for 5 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2010.
